General Information

ENERGY STAR is a program created by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Untied States Department of Energy to save Americans money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. ENERGY STAR rated computers and imaging devices waste less energy when in use, and automatically go into power-saving modes when not in use.

As of February 2008, over 450 desktop computers and 440 laptop computers occupy the ENERGY STAR compliance list. Over 1700 imaging devices; such as printers, fax machines, and copiers; satisfy ENERGY STAR standards. To find products that meet ENERGY STAR compliance standards, or to get more information about other ways the ENERGY STAR program benefits the economy and the environment, visit the ENERGY STAR website.
