VPN at LSU: AnyConnect Client System Requirements

NOTE: Administrator privileges is required.

Computer Operating System Requirements

Computer with a Pentium®-class processor or greater, including Tablet PC

Windows Vista
Windows 7
Windows 8/8.1

Microsoft TCP/IP installed. (Confirm via Start | Settings | Control Panel | Network | Protocols or Configuration)
50 MB hard disk space.

Pentium class processor or greater.

100 MB hard disk space.

Microsoft Installer, version 3.1

Computer with and Intel x86 processor

RedHat Version 5 Desktop 
Ubuntu 9.x and 10.x.

NOTE: The VPN Client does not support SMP (multiprocessor) or 64-bit processor kernels.

32 MB Ram
20 MB hard disk space
32-bit or biarch 64-bit processor.

Sun UltraSPARC computer

32-bit or 64-bit Solaris kernel OS Version 2.6 or later

32 MB Ram
50 MB hard disk space
 

Macintosh computer

Mac OS X, Version 10.8 or later

50 MB hard disk space
PPC only. None of the Release 4.8.x versions supports Mac OS X on Intel processors.

Troubleshooting VPN

The Automatic Installation DID NOT work...

1. Try another Web Browser.  ITS Recommends using Firefox or Safari. 

2. See ITS Web Browser Recommendation for more information.

Still NOT Working?

1. Manually download the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client file from client.vpn.lsu.edu.

2. Manually install the client by dragging the AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client to the Apps folder.

3. Manually connect to the VPN.  View detailed instructions on connecting.
