Phones: EC500 Extension to Cellular - Work to Cell Phone Forwarding


 

General Information

When this service is Activated, phone calls made to your Campus Extension will be bridged to your cell phone at the same time.  You can answer the call on your cell phone and upon arriving at your desk, pick up your campus phone, and continue the conversation while ending the cell call.  While on your cell phone with an EC500 Call, you have access to many of the features that you have on your office phone including Transfer & Conference.  EC500 can be Activated & Deactivated from any touch tone phone at any time. 

Things to Know About this Feature:
  • DO NOT Activate unless your cell phone is ON & Receiving a Signal.  If you turn your phone OFF or lose service, DEACTIVATE EC500.  (DO NOT FORGET TO DEACTIVATE EC500!)
  • Make sure that the # of Rings from your Campus Extension to Voicemail is LESS THAN the # of Rings before your cell phone provider intercepts with voicemail.
  • If you answer an incoming call on your Campus Extension, it will no longer ring on your cell phone.  (On your cell phone, it will  and show as a missed call.)
  • When you call a Campus Extension from your cell phone and you have EC500 Enabled, it will display your Campus Extension to the other caller in their Caller ID.

Available To:             LSU Faculty, Staff & Student Employee with an Extension on the LSU Telephone System.

Request Service:    Submit a UNI Work Order Request.   (View instructions on filling out the UNI form.)

Delivery Time:          Up to 10 Business Days.

Associated Fees:    Monthly Charge $2.00

NOTE: The cell phone number must have a local Baton Rouge area phone number. The EC500 feature may not be set up for a cell phone that has a long-distance phone number.

This feature does not work with analog (single-line) phones.
 

Activate & De-Activate EC500 using Off-PBX

  • From your On-Campus Extension
 ACTIVATE EC500:
Press the EC500 button located on your phone. 
  • On a Model 9611G phone set, a green light will appear next to the EC500 button
  • On a 2400 & 4600 Model series, a little diamond will appear next to the EC500 button
  • On a 6400 Model series, a light will appear next to the EC500 button
 DE-ACTIVATE EC500:
Press the EC500 button located on your phone. 
  • On a Model 9611G phone set, the green light will turn off next to the EC500 button
  • On a 2400 & 4600 Model series, a little diamond will disappear next to the EC500 button
  • On a 6400 Model series, a light will turn off next to the EC500 button

 

  • From Any On-Campus Phone (other than your own extension)
 ACTIVATE EC500:

1. Dial 4-5741....hear the dial tone (from campus phone). Dial 334-5741....hear the dial tone (from OFF-campus phone).

2. Dial #95....hear the dial tone.

3. Dial your 5-digit telephone extension, then press # (pound sign).

4. Dial your 5-digit telephone extension, then press #

5. You will then hear a 3 beep confirmation tone.

 DE-ACTIVATE EC500:

1. Dial 4-5741....hear the dial tone (from campus phone). Dial 334-5741....hear the dial tone (from OFF-campus phone).

2. Dial #96....hear the dial tone.

3. Dial your 5-digit telephone extension, then press # (pound sign).

4. Dial your 5-digit telephone extension, then press #

5. You will then hear a 3 beep confirmation tone.

  • From Any On-Campus Extension
 ACTIVATE EC500:

1. Dial #95....hear the dial tone.

2. Dial your 5-digit XMobile Extension (usually 29XXX), then press # (pound sign).

3. Dial your 5-digit Security Code (your campus phone number 8xxxx), then press #

4. You will hear a 3 beep confirmation tone.

 DE-ACTIVATE EC500:

1. Dial #96....hear the dial tone.

2. Dial your 5-digit XMobile Extension (usually 29XXX), then press # (pound sign).

3. Dial your 5-digit Security Code (your campus phone number 8xxxx), then press #

4. You will hear a 3 beep confirmation tone.
